Join in a Marathon Trek in the heart of Snowdonia to help raise funds for local Hospice care.

A new walking challenge for 2022 has been added to the St David’s Hospice Fundraising Events calendar for May.

Working in partnership with Adventure Parc Snowdonia, the day hike will see supporters and walking enthusiasts trek 40 kilometres (25 miles) through beautiful North Wales.

The weekend (Fri 14th – Sun 16th May), includes two nights glamping pod accommodation, a Friday night pasta party with special guest adventure speaker and a celebration evening after the walk.

The route, which starts and finishes in Dolgarrog, takes in the spectacular Snowdonia landscape, across a range of interesting terrain including; open moorland, mountain terrain, woodland, farmland, uneven and rocky terrain.

The challenge is physically demanding and should only be attempted by fit walkers/ individuals who have reasonable experience of walking. Training in the run up to the event is advisable.

Each individual team member will carry an event GPS tracker and safety marshals plus directional markers will highlight key points along the route.

Head of Fundraising, Andrew Everley said: “We wanted to create an event like no other. One that will test you both physically and mentally.

“It’s a challenge to bring you and your friends together with a common goal of achieving something truly special and all for a fantastic cause in the beautiful Snowdonia National Park.”

To take part the entry fee is £149 per person based on a team of four. This includes food, accommodation and trek, and the minimum sponsorship pledge is £299 per person.
