Cindy conquers her worst fears to support St David’s Hospice

Cindy Griffith from Colwyn Bay is tackling her fear of heights, taking the plunge, raising much needed funds for St David’s Hospice, a local palliative care charity based in North Wales.

She will be participating in a tandem Skydive Event on the 24th of July 2021 at Tilstock Airfield in Whitchurch.

During 2019, Cindy underwent three lots of surgery which made her reflect on how precious and short life is. As a result, she set herself a challenge to conquer three fears; swimming in the sea, riding a motorbike and getting hands on with a cat.Cindy embraced the challenges head on, motivating her to set a fourth challenge.

Cindy explained her reason behind supporting the local charity. “In July 2020 I had another health scare. On the return journey from my check-up I decided, whatever the outcome of my results, if I came through the other end, I would jump out of a plane to raise donations for St David’s Hospice.’’

“Like last time I had the mind-set that conquering a fear had to be simpler to overcome than a serious diagnosis. Each one of us has been affected by a loved one, friend or neighbour passing away so please help me raise donations for this wonderful local charity. After all, it’s not as if you need to jump out of a plane for it.’’

To date, Cindy has raised 20% of her £1,000 fundraising target, can you help her reach her goal? If so, please visit her JustGiving page. https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/cindygriffith

Any donation, big or small will go a long way. Community fundraisers make up 90% of the 5 million annual running cost of St David’s Hospice, with just 9% of that figure coming from the Welsh Government and Local Health Board.

Every penny raised will contribute massively towards St David’s Hospice continuing to provide their care, free of charge to the people of Conwy, Gwynedd and Anglesey.
