St Joseph’s School in Colwyn Bay recently welcomed the RNLI Visits Team from Llandudno.

Gareth from the crew came in his inshore lifeboat kit and the team did a presentation to sixty reception and nursery pupils.

The theme was about Llandudno Lifeboat and how they provide a lifesaving service for the public. This was followed by sharing the RNLI key message for keeping safe around water.

The session was finished off with games that emphasised the important messages about water safety and the RNLI campaign to “Respect the Water.”

The pupils were asked to try and remember five key messages: stop and think about dangers, where and how to enjoy activity around water, staying together, with a friend, family or group, float until you feel calm and call 999/112 if someone is in trouble.

John Roberts one of the lead trainers at Llandudno lifeboat station explained,"The feedback from the school staff and the parents was really positive, we were all delighted and impressed by how much these very young pupils had remembered and shared with family and friends."
