Rhos-on-Sea's PechaKucha night for arts and creativity

February 24, 2020 - 1475 views

An innovative, fun way of networking and finding out about heritage, arts and creative projects in the Bay of Colwyn is happening tonight (Monday 24th Feb).

PechaKucha, which is Japanese for chit-chat, is a simple storytelling format where presenters are invited to show 20 images, each for 20 seconds. The images advance automatically on a timer as presenters talk along to the images. There is no option to ‘pause’ or ‘go back’.

PechaKucha Nights have been held in more than 1,142 cities worldwide with more than 3 million people attending.

As part of the Imagine Colwyn Bay project, a special night is being held at the Rhos Fynach pub to lift the lid on the many projects which are in development across the area. The event takes place from 7.30-9.30pm.

Used most recently at Northern Eye Festival and Oriel Colwyn, it is hoped that this will be the first of many PechaKucha Nights to be held for the creative industry sector throughout 2020 – a perfectly named year for this intriguing ’20 images x 20 seconds’ format!

The aim is to provide a social event which connects creative people together and enables the sharing of work, knowledge, ideas and passions.Come along and enjoy presentations from other people and organisations in what is a very thriving sector in North Wales.

Tickets are free of charge but must be booked via Eventbrite.
