Police warning after spate of thefts over holiday period

Police in North Wales have reported a significant number of thefts over the Christmas and New Year period.

In an update this afternoon, officers say that there has been numerous reports of thefts from vehicles and attempts to gain entry to cars and sheds.

"This appears to be opportunistic thefts/attempt thefts which can be prevented by simply crime prevention actions such as ensuring all cars are locked and that all valuables are removed or hidden out of sight," said PCSO Chris Livesey from the Community Safety Unit.

"For homes please make it routine to keep your windows and doors locked, even when you are at home, and that any outbuildings such as sheds at secured with good quality locks".
