A motorcyclist has sadly died after a collision on the A548 between the villages of Llanfair Talhaiarn and Llangernyw shortly after 2pm yesterday afternoon (Sunday 6th June).

A statement from North Wales Police has been made. "We are investigating a fatal road traffic collision that has sadly resulted in the death of a 59-year-old man. It involved a white Ford transit van and a black and silver coloured motorcycle."

Emergency services attended the scene and despite the best efforts of police and Welsh Air Ambulance colleagues, the rider was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sergeant Raymond Williams from the Roads Policing Unit said: “I offer my profound condolences to the family and friends of the rider at this difficult time.

“I am appealing to anyone who was travelling on the road at that time between Llanrwst and Llanfairtalhairan that witnessed the collision or may have dashcam footage that shows either vehicle prior to the collision.

"I would also welcome anyone who may have been travelling that route that has dashcam to contact us. If you have any information, please get in touch via webchat or by calling 101, quoting reference 21000395813.

“The road was closed in order to carry out a full forensic investigation into the collision and I am grateful for the patience shown by road users whose journey may have been inconvenienced due to the sad incident.”
