Voices have been ringing out along with the tills on Llandudno's retail park.
The town’s Primark store hosted the North Wales Rock Choir for two performances last weekend in aid of Tŷ Gobaith and Hope House Children's hospices.
Whilst the 40 strong choir provided the high-energy entertainment, there was a successful bucket collection for the charity – this was on top of a fantastic £500 in-store spend donated by the clothing chain.
Primark colleague, Danielle Hocknell, who hosts the store’s Events Committee, explained: “This year Primark has given each store £500 worth of products to put towards a good cause in the local area.
“Together our Events Committee in our Llandudno store decided to support Tŷ Gobaith as it is just such a great cause and benefits so many local families in the area. We’re really pleased to be able to donate gifts and bring a little joy to people this festive season.
“One of our team members Julie is part of the Rock Choir and arranged for them to come and perform voluntarily in-store, which was incredible to see and went down very well with customers.
“I’m very proud of all the team and they put a great effort into it, even building a sleigh and getting dressed up as festive elves and Santa Claus.”
In total, over £900 worth of donations and products were raised from Llandudno customers and Primark colleagues this year.
Danielle and Primark’s Llandudno store manager, Sophie Walsh, attended the hospice to deliver the donated items and cheque earlier this month.
Sophie said: “It’s such a beautiful, peaceful place and I’m so glad as a store we have been able to help in some way – I’m so proud of the team. It’s very humbling to visit the hospice to meet the wonderful staff and see the facilities – it’s such an asset to the community and one Primark is very proud to support.”
Tŷ Gobaith fundraiser Sian Golding was there on the day and was very impressed, saying: “Wow, what a great way to show support for the community and get everybody in the festive spirit.
“We’re so grateful to Sophie, Danielle, Julie, their staff and of course the amazing Rock Choir.
“Every penny they raised will help us to enable local children living with a life-threatening condition to play, giggle, thrive and make quality moments with their families. Thank you so much.”
