North Wales Police have been taking action after a series of informal consultations with the community in Colwyn Bay.

Following their first North Wales Talking Survey, residents in the town's Glyn Ward said that anti-social behaviour was one of their key concerns, in particular worries about alcohol been drunk in the town.

The survey revealed that alcohol and its role in street drinking was in the top 3 of local people's worries with one location a particular problem.

A spokesperson explained; "Being aware that the Ivy Street Car Park and the step on the electrical substation was a primary location for this activity to take place, Colwyn Bay's Neighbourhood Policing Team worked in conjunction with SP Energy Networks and had the step where this activity was taking place removed.

"The removal of this step to date appears to have been effective in preventing this activity from taking place there."
