Local officers took part in a ceremony yesterday to remember those who lost their lives in the line of duty.

At  North Wales Police Headquarters in Colwyn Bay fallen colleagues were honoured during National Police Memorial Day.

The ceremony was lead by Deputy Chief Constable Richard Debicki with one of the force chaplins, Ant Howe. A minutes’ silence was held at 11am to remember police officers, friends and colleagues who have been killed or died whilst on duty.

Also present were the families of two of North Wales police officers who lost their lives whilst on duty who attended the ceremony and lit a candle in their memory.

A spokesperson for North Wales Police said: "One of the aims of National Police Memorial Day is to demonstrate to relatives, friends and colleagues of fallen officers that their sacrifice is not forgotten.

"We were happy to have their families join us today to remember them, as well as our other colleagues who have lost their lives in the line of duty."
