One of North Wales’ business leaders has just taken up the voluntary Chairmanship of the North Wales Police and Community Trust (PACT).
Ashley Rogers is well known in North Wales and North West business circles in his role as Commercial Director and former Chair of the Business Council for North Wales, as well as running his own consultancy business and holding a number of North Wales regional roles.
Since 1998 PACT has been supporting community led projects across north Wales with grants that help bring together and build safe and resilient communities, and is delighted to welcome Ashley to the Board of Trustees bringing with him a wealth of UK and international private sector experience to PACT.
Ashley, a former Prestatyn High School pupil, has worked in International Trade Development for the Republic of Ireland and European Marketing for leading US and UK Consumer products businesses, based in the UK and mainland Europe.
Ashley returned to his native North Wales in 2011 after successfully completing a Land's End to John O'Groats 1200 mile solo trek for Hope House Children's Hospice.
Ashley balances his own business with his regional role at the Business Council which represents 12+ business bodies including the FSB, Chamber of Commerce and North Wales Tourism.
He was a board member of the North Wales Economic Ambition Board for 4 years and is the Private Sector lead for North Wales on the cross-border Growth Track 360 Rail Task force.
Ashley speaks with the experience of someone who has lived and worked in various parts of the world. He went backpacking after finishing university – working in Australia and travelling through Asia and spending time on a kibbutz in Israel and later then working in Holland, France, Spain and Italy.
Ashley is delighted to be invited to become Chair of PACT and have the opportunity to not only continue the work the trust does, but also help and guide the development of that work and have an even greater impact in the support of communities across north Wales.
Ashley said: “The health and wellbeing of our communities has never been more important, and I am proud to take over as Chair following and building on the work of the Chief Constable and the late David Williams MBE.
"I look forward to working with our Trustees, the PCC, North Wales Police and wider partners including the business community for the benefit of our residents.”
