A six-year-old boy has died following a road traffic collision in Llanfairfechan yesterday evening.
North Wales Police said officers were called to reports of an incident involving a vehicle and a child shortly after 5pm on Thursday.
The boy was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 39-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
Several roads around Pen-y-Bryn Road and Bryn Road were closed while emergency services dealt with the incident, with people asked to avoid the area.
The boy’s family is being supported by specially trained family liaison officers.
Detective Inspector Tim Evans said: “Our thoughts are with the young boy's family and friends at this extremely difficult time.”
An investigation into the circumstances of the collision is continuing.
Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed what happened or may have relevant information to contact North Wales Police.
