Budding photographers and artists are getting set to take part in a wonderful local competition featuring nature in Bay of Colwyn gardens.
At this time of year local gardeners and businesses get set to show off their gardens and displays to judges as part of the annual Colwyn in Bloom competition.
This year it has been revealed that the Colwyn in Bloom adult art and photography competition’s chosen theme will be on ‘Bees’ and photography will be welcomed from any adults wishing to take part living in the Colwyn Bay, Rhos on Sea and Old Colwyn areas. Entries should be a minimum of A4 and maximum A3 size.
Please send your entries to the Town Hall, Rhiw Road, Colwyn Bay by Wednesday 30th June 2021. As the Town Hall is currently closed due to Covid restrictions, please call 01492 532248 to arrange delivery.
Judging will take place during early July and winning entries in the Art Competition will then be displayed in the Bay Gallery over the summer. Also winners in the Photography Competition will be displayed in the Oriel Gallery, Theatr Colwyn for a period of time.
Cash prizes of £100, £50 and £25 will be made to First, Second and Third places. Art prizes have been sponsored by Bay Gallery, Colwyn Bay and Photography prizes have been sponsored by the Bay of Colwyn Town Council.
Winners will be invited to a photo-call in both of the galleries and also possibly a Colwyn in Bloom presentation evening in October, dependent on Covid-19 restrictions/guidance in place at the time.
