Welsh Mountain Zoo presented with Services to Tourism award

The team at the Welsh Mountain Zoo – National Zoo of Wales, where left speechless at this year’s Go North Wales awards where they were presented with the coveted, Services to Tourism award!

The jam packed and sold-out event was held at Venue Cymru in Llandudno where the industry gathered to celebrate the achievements of Tourism operators in North Wales.

A delegation from the Zoo attended on the night including Director of Operations & Administration, Jen Jesse, Marketing Manager, Charlotte Dykes and Trustees, Nick and Rob Jackson who together accepted the award from Adam Williams, owner, and operator of Tir Prince Leisure Group. 

Jen commented: “As a team, when we attended the Go North Wales Tourism Award, we were so thrilled to be nominated for the Go Attraction of the Year award … little did we know that we would walk away with the Go North Wales Services to Tourism award! 
 
“To say we were speechless was an understatement. This amazing award is an incredibly important accolade for us and is a testament to our fantastic staff, volunteers, visitors and supporters who have made the Zoo what it is today, 60 years on.”

Indeed, the Zoo celebrates its 60th birthday this year – a landmark year that allows all involved, past and present, to reflect on how far the charity has come and its many achievements.

Jen added: “We have achieved so much through the years and have so many exciting plans ahead. Recognition such as this help us build the momentum to realise our ambitions and to continue developing and evolving, whilst retaining our place as a leading attraction within our region.”
