Welsh Mountain Zoo gets set to welcome springtime

February 13, 2020 - 1401 views

February half term is almost here and the Welsh Mountain Zoo has released details of its Spring plans, celebrating the changing of seasons as we prepare to say goodbye to Winter.

A Spring theme will run across the first school break of the year, launching on the 15th February and carrying through to 23rd.

An inspiring and educational seasonal trail will be launched centred around the animals at the Zoo, looking into how and why Spring is important to the animals at the Zoo and worldwide.

As part of the early break, the Zoo will be holding art and craft sessions where visitors will be invited to create some treats for some of the birds at the Zoo including the Macaws and the Amazon Parrots.

These free activities will be held on Wednesday 19thand Thursday 20th February between 11am and 12.30pm.

Marcia Azevedo Moreira, Marketing & Sales Manager at the Welsh Mountain Zoo said: “The first half term break of the year marks the start of Spring when we’ve hopefully seen the last of the cold weather and the green shoots are sprouting.

“We want to celebrate the changing of the seasons and ensure our little visitors are aware of the importance of Spring, what it represents and symbolises.

All activities are free and designed to make sure that our school aged animal lovers really get the most out of their day here with us.”
