Update at 14:52 Monday: The Conwy Tunnel has now fully re-opened to traffic in both directions following remdial work the tunnel's safety system.

Many parts of West Conwy ground to a standstill during rush hour this morning, as traffic was prevented from travelling through the Conwy Tunnel
This followed a fault found with the tunnel's safety system.
Currently traffic is still unable to use the tunnel and diversions are in place through Conwy and via the A5 at Betws-y-Coed.
A spokesperson for Traffic Wales said that due to safety concerns, no traffic was unable to enter the tunnel. At this time, there is no update on when work on the safety system will be completed.
