Three months of overnight roadworks due on the A55

April 07, 2021 - 857 views

Essential maintenance works to the A55, A494 and A483 dual carriageways are likely to impact on motorists in Conwy, Gwynedd, Flintshire and Wrexham from today.

Seasonal and periodic operations will include grass cutting, weed treatment, litter collection, drainage cleansing, sweeping, structural maintenance and highways inspections.

Routine maintenance and inspection work on highway infrastructure is vital for the safety of road users and includes a wide range of activities such as, for example, gully emptying and their inspection to identify significant defects, which reduces the risk of flooding on our motorways and trunk roads.

The work will be carried in Conwy on sections of the A55 between 6th April and 27th July with works planned to happen from 19:30 nightly. This will include main carriageway lane closures and full slip road closures.

Closures will be in place elsewhere in North Wales to undertake maintainance on the A494 and A483.
