Teens spotted trying to spend fake £20 notes locally

January 19, 2022 - 1377 views

Shop keepers, traders and businesses in the Bay and across Conwy county are being warned to be on their guard against accepting fake bank notes.

Specifically North Wales Police have said that there have been a number of reports of local teenagers attempting to pass fake £20 notes.

However they added that the forged notes are of poor quality and should be easily seen. However, these could be easily slipped in with other money or handed over during busy times and when shopkeepers are least able to closely check their cash.

If you are aware of anyone attempting to pass a fake bank note, please make a note of the person doing so or provide any security camera footage or information to officers by calling 101.
