Spot the signs and report exploitation in North Wales

August 22, 2022 - 596 views

Child sexual exploitation, modern slavery and human trafficking are largely hidden crimes, but we can all do more to highlight them if we know the signs to look out for.

Operation Aidant is a joint campaign between police, the National Crime Agency and law enforcement agencies to target these issues and encourage people to report concerns to the Police or Crimestoppers.

Over the next few weeks, North Wales Police will be focusing on each of these areas and showing you the signs to look out for and how to report concerns.

Detective Sergeant Sian Roberts from the Protecting Vulnerable People Unit said, “Please support us in protecting some of the most vulnerable people in our communities by being alert to these signs and reporting concerns. These crimes often go unreported through fear, leaving victims at further risk. Concerns can be reported anonymously.”

If you think you or someone you know is being sexual exploited, you can report it anonomously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, the Modern Slavery helpline on 0800 0121 700 or by calling North Wales Police directly on 101.
