Shock as major attraction and employer 'scraps' season

July 01, 2020 - 2020 views

Tourism in North Wales has been left reeling with the news that Adventure Parc Snowdonia, a major attraction in North Wales has decided that it won't now be opening for the remainder of this year.

In a statement on their website, the centre known formerly as Surf Snowdonia hinted at the frustration the company has faced at trying to salvage the season amid the coronavirus pandemic and the restrictions placed on the movement of people of visitors.

The text reads:

The latest government guidelines are that soft play centres, water parks and indoor gyms must remain closed. Under these guidelines we would be unable to operate the vast majority of our site, including our glamping pods, surf lagoon, soft play and adrenaline indoors.

These guidelines are unlikely to change quickly enough to give us any kind of viable summer season.

It is therefore with a heavy heart that we have to confirm that Adventure Parc Snowdonia will remain closed to the public for the remainder of 2020.

We know this will be a real disappointment to anyone who has looked forward to spending time with us this year. Please be assured that we share every bit of that disappointment.

On a more positive note, the company said it was looking forward to welcoming visitors back to centre in 2021 and plans to open up the Hilton Park Hotel on the site in April 2021 were still on track.
