Shaping social care future in the Bay of Colwyn

January 15, 2019 - 1335 views

Something positive is happening in social care and Wales is at the forefront. The Welsh public no longer want to be passive recipients, but active players in the design and delivery of their care and well-being services.

At Care to Co-operate they have already helped a number of people and communities with shared needs and interests to start forming their own care co-operatives.

Recently local people have told the organisation what the future of social care co-operatives in Wales should look like. Research has shown that there are common areas of interest such as “social care needs more public support”, “more of us will need social care services in the future” and “you can create better care by co-operating rather than by competing.”

To help shape their vision, and build a strategy for change, Care to Co-operate is hosting events in the Bay of Colwyn and across Wales. Together with the help of the public and issues raised in research the group is planning decisive action to deliver a realistic plan and strategy for the future.

They are looking to do things differently and create a social care future that everyone wants.
