Colwyn Bay won their second pre-season game with a 2-0 victory over Denbigh Town behind closed doors at Eirias Park.

Gwion Owen netted from a rebound to give Bay a first half lead and Jack Higgins netted a late penalty to seal the win.

Manager Craig Hogg was pleased with the result and his side’s performance on the 3G pitch.

“We imposed ourselves, which I wanted to see and created some really good chances and I feel we probably should have scored a few more,” Craig said. “It’s another step in the right direction I feel today.”

James Ellison made his first appearance since rejoining the club from Marine, while Tom McCready made a belated return in a Bay shirt.

“It was great to see them,” Craig added.

“Tom is our captain, he’s a leader both on and off the pitch and his performance today was really good.

“We got them both through 45 minutes today. They’ve got a little bit more to do with their fitness in terms of catching up with the rest of the group, because of their availability with work and things like that. But I’m pleased with what they’ve done today.”
