A new craze has been a huge hit with Rydal Penrhos pupils during Physical Education sessions during their return to school.
With social distancing measures preventing normal sessions at Rydal Penrhos, the staff team have been using an exciting game that has captured the imagination of pupils.
Teaching staff Nicky Head and Sean Kitchen implemented Frisbee Golf into their Year 7 and 8 senior games time last week, which is a mix of teamwork, skills and timing.
Frisbee Golf originated in the USA in the late 1960s and has spread throughout the world.
It’s just like ‘ball’ golf, the main difference being it is played by throwing a frisbee into a metal target instead of hitting a ball into a hole.
The aim is to send the frisbee from tee to basket in the fewest throws.
The rules and basic skills are simple to grasp, allowing beginners to immediately have fun challenging themselves with friends.
Mrs Head, said: “Frisbee Golf is a unique way of improving some vital skills associated with sport, in addition to having a tremendous amount of fun in the process.
“This is a difficult time in terms of finding the sort of activities needed to comply with social distancing measures. The activities well down incredibly well with our pupils and it was great to see so many smiling faces on New Field once again.”
