Tourism and hospitality businesses across Wales are being encouraged to apply for a share of a new £2 million grant scheme aimed at improving accessibility and creating more inclusive visitor experiences.
The Welsh Government’s new Croeso i Bawb scheme will support practical improvements designed to remove barriers for disabled visitors and the people travelling with them.
Funding could be used for projects including accessible bedrooms and toilets, improved visitor routes, hearing loops, sensory spaces, inclusive play areas, rest areas and accessible outdoor seating.
The Welsh Government says the scheme will help more people plan and enjoy visits to Wales with confidence, while supporting its ambition to make the country a more welcoming destination for everyone.
Cabinet Minister for Enterprise, Connectivity and Energy, Adam Price, said a quarter of all visitors to Wales are disabled and that a welcome to Wales “cannot come with small print”.
He said accessibility must work for disabled visitors, neurodivergent visitors and people with hidden conditions and barriers.
The application process is being supported by practical guidance and a toolkit developed with Wales-based not-for-profit organisation PIWS, helping businesses understand the visitor experience, identify barriers and focus on improvements that will make the biggest difference.
Davina Carey-Evans from PIWS said accessibility should be seen as an investment, helping businesses attract new customers, improve experiences and support staff.
Tourism and hospitality businesses across Wales have until 21 September 2026 to submit applications.
