This week's episode of Saving Lives At Sea provides a further fascinating glimpse into life at the Rhyl Lifeboat Station.

The popular series on BBC Two, focusing on the immense contribution of RNLI crews around the UK, featured Rhyl crew members being called out away from their families on Christmas Day.

However, this was not the only time the volunteer crew were at the station over the 2022 Christmas break and after a very busy Boxing Day morning holding the annual RNLI Rhyl Festive Dip the crew were again called out in the early evening. This time the crew launched into rough conditions to reports of a person in the water off Rhyl.

The Inshore Lifeboat Crew, two of which were the same crew as Christmas Day, managed to rescue the person from the water whilst battling the surf, saving their life. For this the crew were awarded the RNLI Chief Executive Commendation.
