An ambitious and innovative fundraising event for a local school saw many local people show their support over the weekend.

The Llanddulas Row is a 7 day / 168 hour Continuous Rowing Fundraising Event Challenge on a Concept 2 rowing machine to raise money for Ysgol Llanddulas. The Fundraising Event will take place at 12pm on 18th March 2019 and run through to 12pm on Monday 25th March 2019.

Ahead of the main event, fundraising began on Saturday outside Debenham's in Llandudno raising £343.

Organisers also received support from the department store and were presented with a gift set which will be raffled off at a special Events night on Saturday 30th March at The Kinmel & Kinspa.

The Goal is to raise as much money as possible for the school so that it can purchase an additional mini bus. This will be a life line to the school and will allow full classes of pupils to go on school trips, outings and sports events which is not currently possible, due to the size of the current old one.

This will also bring the school in line with the latest Curriculum for 'Successful Futures' with the aim of getting pupils out and about more.

The event will involve all pupils of the school, teachers, parents and the wider community all rowing for their desired duration and as often as they want during those 7 days.

The school is hoping to receive donations and sponsorship that will also provide a number of defibrillators too, that can be located within the village of Llanddulas and benefit the local community. The school is hoping that this is going to be an event that inspires pupils and the community and create happy memories for pupils to cherish for the rest of their lives.

The event will be streamed live and you can give your support by visiting the school's Facebook page.
