An 18-year-old man has pleaded guilty to the murder of his mother following her death in Prestatyn last year.

The body of Angela Shellis, aged 45, was discovered in undergrowth in the Morfa area of the town on the morning of 24 October 2025 after being found by a member of the public.

Based on the circumstances, North Wales Police immediately launched a murder investigation.

Detectives quickly identified Tristan Thomas Roberts, of Coniston Drive, Prestatyn, as a suspect. He was arrested at his home address and, four days later on 28 October, was charged with murder.

Roberts appeared at Mold Crown Court earlier today, Thursday 5 February, where he pleaded guilty to the offence.

He is due to be sentenced at Mold Crown Court on Wednesday 25 March 2026.
