Police: Victims of abuse will be heard and supported

North Wales Police is supporting the national “When You Are Ready” campaign.

Launched by the Child Sexual Exploitation Taskforce, this powerful initiative encourages victims and survivors of child sexual abuse and exploitation to seek support — whenever they feel ready.

At the heart of the campaign is a moving two-minute film featuring real voices of survivors. It shares their courageous journey of disclosure and the impact of being heard — without detailing the abuse itself.

Detective Chief Inspector Rich Sidney said: “Our priority is always the protection and support of victims.

“We urge anyone who has experienced sexual abuse—or who is concerned about someone who may be suffering—to come forward. You will be listened to, your report will be investigated, and we will ensure you have access to the support you need.

“Whether the abuse is recent or non-recent, we are here to support and investigate. It can be reported at any time; it is never too late.

“Your voice deserves to be heard, and you do not have to go through it alone. We have specialist teams to ensure all those victims who contact us are supported in the best way possible."
