A 38-year-old man has been jailed after attacking his partner and repeatedly breaching a domestic abuse protection order.

Craig Rowlands, of Hafan Deg, Tanygrisiau, was sentenced at Caernarfon Magistrates’ Court on 10 June after admitting three counts of assault by beating and two counts of breaching a Domestic Abuse Protection Order (DAPO).

The court heard that in January this year Rowlands assaulted his partner, pushing, kicking and striking her on the face and head.

Following the incident, a DAPO was imposed on 19 March, prohibiting him from having any contact with the woman.

However, just weeks later, on 1 April, Rowlands breached the order by attending her address. He was arrested by police officers who found him inside the property.

Despite this, further breaches followed. On 21 May, officers were called again after Rowlands was reported to be at the address. When police arrived, he was discovered hiding underneath a bed inside the home.

Rowlands was subsequently jailed for 45 weeks.
