Operation 'Rainbow Gardens' helps brighten up our day

Conwy County Borough Council has delivered annual bedding plants to care homes, hospitals and district nursing teams around the county, a scheme the team has named “rainbow gardens”.

The plants would usually have been used around Conwy county, but because of Covid-19, crews haven’t been able to prepare the flower beds as usual.

“These are plants we’ve grown from seed in our nursery, and rather than letting them go to waste, we decided to donate them to brighten up local hospitals, care homes and care workers’ gardens,” said Cllr Greg Robbins, Cabinet Member for Environment and Transportation.

“It’s a thank you on behalf of all Conwy’s residents for the daily dedication and devotion to duty of care workers.”
