The Health and Safety Executive says builders and contractors must take extra precautions to stop children entering construction sites, where they could face serious dangers.
The warning comes after previous incidents across the UK where children have been injured, and in some tragic cases killed, after accessing unsafe building sites.
The HSE says companies working across areas including Conwy, Denbighshire, Gwynedd, Anglesey and Flintshire should make sure sites are properly fenced, locked when unattended, and that hazards such as open excavations, machinery and building materials are secured.
HSE inspector Mike Thomas said construction sites contain numerous risks and those responsible must ensure unauthorised access is prevented both during and outside working hours.
The regulator is reminding the construction industry that protecting local communities, particularly children during the summer holidays, is a vital part of site safety.
