People across Conwy will now be able to pick up free lateral flow Covid-19 home testing kits from sites across the county.
About 1 in 3 people with coronavirus do not have symptoms but can still infect others.
Getting tested regularly is the only way to know if you have the virus. If people test positive and self-isolate, it helps stop the virus spreading.
Lateral flow tests will be available for collection at the following leisure centres from today (21 June 2021).
James Alexander Barr Tennis Centre, Eirias Park
Llandudno Swimming Centre
Llandudno Junction Leisure Centre
Abergele Leisure Centre
Hwb yr Hen Ysgol Llanrwst (for LFD collection from 9am - 5pm)
The lateral flow kits can provide results in around 30 minutes. Instructions on how to use the tests and record the results are included with the kits.
If you are unable to collect testing kits in person, you can order them for home delivery on the Welsh Government website https://gov.wales/get-rapid-lateral-flow-covid-19-tests-if-you-do-not-have-symptoms
Cllr Charlie McCoubrey, Leader of Conwy County Borough Council said, “Testing those without symptoms is an important tool in the fight against COVID-19. Each positive case identified can help prevent many more infections. These new collection points at locations across the county, will make it easier for everyone to access this rapid testing, free of charge.”
Rapid lateral flow tests are for people who do not have coronavirus symptoms.
People with symptoms of COVID-19 should NOT take a rapid test. Instead, please stay at home and book a PCR test online or by calling 119.
