Shelter Cymru would like to let you know about a fantastic new way to support their services at this crucial time and to listen to some great new music at the same time.

The Lockdown Collective is a group of 28 musicians from around the world who have come together to produce the album Gwaith Cartref (Homework) by recording 10 original tracks from home during the lockdown period.

Project Coordinator Nik Bizzell-Browning has experienced homelessness himself in the past and, in bringing these artists and this album together, had at the forefront of his mind that the Covid-19 pandemic is hitting people without safe and secure accommodation harder than most.

That’s why all proceeds from the album, which can be purchased for £10, will go to Shelter Cymru.

Furthermore Shelter Cymru have been in touch with Bandcamp and the Performing Rights Society and, as all artists have waived their royalties and all rights to the recordings, any proceeds from the songs being played on local radio stations including Bayside will go direct to the charity.

The coronavirus pandemic has seen a 105% increase in calls to our services since lockdown began and people need Shelter Cymru’s help more than ever before.

Shelter Cymru describes itself as Wales's people and homes charity. Its vision is that a decent, secure home is a fundamental right and essential to the health and well-being of communities.
