Janet Finch-Saunders MS - the Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy – has lled tributes to local frontline health workers and unsung care heroes, as the BCUHB become the first Welsh Health Board to surpass 100,000 doses.

In visiting Venue Cymru, the site of Llandudno’s Mass Vaccination Centre, Janet urged any residents aged 70 years or over, who has yet to receive their first dose of the vaccine, to contact the BCUHB booking support line on 03000 840004.

Celebrating the staff manning the response, Mrs. Finch-Saunders said: “I am proud to lead constituency tributes to our Coronavirus responders as BCUHB becomes the first Welsh Health Board to surpass 100,000 doses of the vaccine.

"This milestone is a testament to our dedicated local workforce, in all their guises, who have continued to push forward in these challenging winter months.

“It can be hard to fully quantify our appreciation of the dedicated hard work that local Coronavirus responders have shown throughout the pandemic, as well as the subsequent roll-out programme.

"They are a testament to their profession, and highlight why our National Health Service, our care providers and armed forces will forever remain the pride of the United Kingdom.

“From the cleaners and desk clerks; the cooks and backroom staff; to our frontline health staff, caregivers and volunteers – this local vaccination effort has rightly placed community spirit at the fore. This will be remembered and your efforts central to our plans to build back better.

“As more constituents now receive their first jab, many have kindly sent gracious emails which underscore the selfless job that you have carried out. Whilst the programme continues apace, in this region with the largest proportion of residents aged over 65, I hope that the knowledge of this appreciation will help maintain morale.

“I do recognise that some eligible people have yet to receive their first vaccination, and urge such priority residents to contact the BCUHB booking line.

"Should you experience any issues or have any concerns, please know that I remain on hand to assist wherever possible. I am also corresponding with local care providers to as the situation continues to evolve."
