March 31, 2020 - 1907 views

In these difficult times, Conwy Mind is offering help and support to anyone affected by the current coronavirus situation.

Conwy Mind based in Llandudno have received emergency funding from the Steve Morgan Foundation to set up a Virtual Hub and a counselling service. This will run for at least the next 12 weeks to offer support through the Covid-19 Coronavirus social distancing period.

Though staff are working from home, they have introduced new technologies so that staff members can offer a support service across Conwy County.

If you are feeling that the current situation is affecting your mental health, please get in touch.

The best way to contact Conwy Mind is by email info@conwymind.org.uk or through the contact form on the website, but you can also contact them by telephone 01492 879907.

Their aim to get back to you within three days to discuss options of support.

Louise from Llandudno said: “It’s hard being away from family. I am used to getting out more, meeting people.  I feel very lonely."

Matt from Colwyn Bay said: “I’m feeling really anxious about my job. I am worried I will get the virus at work and make my family ill. I’m not sleeping well and I can’t think straight.”

Conwy Mind staff and volunteers will be offering check-in calls to support people who are feeling anxious or isolated through this difficult time.

For those for whom it would be appropriate, they can offer an online CBT course or 6 weeks of telephone counselling. We can also signpost to other relevant services which may help.

They also have a number of helpful guides to support your mental health on our website www.conwymind.org.uk
