After a busy morning which saw many local road closures and sea water driven onto the eastbound carriagway of the A55 near the Penmaenbach Headland, North Wales Fire and Rescue have confirmed that their response to Storm Pierrick is now lowering.

A spokesperson explained: "Our crews are no longer in attendance at the flooding incidents attended this morning and this afternoon due to subsiding water levels and improving weather conditions.

Mike Owen, Head of Response for North Wales Fire and Rescue Service said: “Thanks to our staff and our partners for their work today. Plans are in place to prepare our water assets in case of similar conditions tomorrow.

“We’d appeal to members of the public to work with us by staying away from fast flowing watercourses and not driving through flooded roads.”

When flood warnings and alerts are in place, residents are advised to keep checking the Natural Resources Wales website at www.naturalresources.wales for advice on what to do before, during and after a flood.

In Wales, 9 flood warnings and 28 flood alerts have been in place as much of the country was seriously impacted by high winds and heavy rain.
