Lloyds Banking Group has announced it will close 79 more branches across the UK over the next year as part of its continued reduction of high street banking sites.
The move will see 31 Lloyds Bank branches and 48 Halifax sites shut nationwide, with one of those confirmed for North Wales.
The Lloyds branch in Llandudno, located at the corner of Mostyn Street and Trinity Square, will close its doors for the final time on 28 October 2026.
In an update on its website, the bank said the branch is “due to close permanently on 28 October 2026”, adding that customers in the area have already been notified.
As part of the closure process, Lloyds completed an assessment on 10 June into cash access in Llandudno. The bank concluded it is “not recommending the provision of any new cash access services in Llandudno at this time”, stating that existing facilities are considered sufficient for local needs.
The announcement forms part of a wider shift by major banks away from traditional high street branches, as more customers move towards digital banking services.
