At a poignant ceremony just before Christmas, Mrs. Deborah Nagib, accompanied by her family, planted a tree at Llandudno Hospital, in memory of her late husband Dr Raafat Lotfy Nagib, who was based at Llandudno Hospital between 1989 and 2018 and who is remembered with great affection by so many patients and staff from over those 30 years.

The occasion was initiated by Rotarian Mike Perry, on behalf of the Rotary Club of Llandudno and the brief commemoration was also attended by Wendy Williams, other senior members of the Hospital and President Rosalind Hopewell plus six other Rotarians and friends.

The tree, an unusual purple beech tree, was donated by Rotary and the commemorative plaque, crafted by Rtn Tris Owen, was kindly donated by Tom Owen and Son.

There was also a festive bonus the occasion. Because of the generosity of Mr. Dean Seager, of Craig y Don, the club was able to meet a request for a Hospital Christmas tree within 24 hours of the request being made.
