Junior Showtime returns to the Pavilion after two years

August 09, 2022 - 801 views

One hundred students from the Gay Harris Dancers took to the stage in their annual production of Junior Showtime last Friday evening.

They were received with rapturous applause from the eager audience, one they have been waiting for for the past two years.

This year marks the 50th year of Junior Showtime, the show has kept its same title from the very start when Mrs Gay Harris MBE started the school back in 1970.

The students, of Rhyl’s longest running dance school put on an evening of song, dance and laughter. They work their socks off to perform the show, devised and choreographed by Mrs Gay Harris MBE, her daughter Adele and dance teacher Dan Constanzo.

One audience member said: “I was blown away by all of the performers. All of the young people are a credit to Mrs Harris and Adele. I’ve never seen such a professional show from amateur performers.”

The students range from 3 – 18 years, and all perform with the schools moto ‘Everyone is a Star’ with the Gay Harris Dancers’. They’re back on stage at The Pavilion Theatre, Rhyl this Sunday 14th and next Sunday 21st August.

The audience will be taken on a journey through some of the best movies from the past few decades, treated to a gorgeous Vienna Woods ballet routine, a fabulous rendition of Only Fools and Horses and much more, the show is fast paced and full of toe tapping hits.
