Inaugural Christmas Market set for this weekend

This weekend Old Colwyn will be hosting its first ever Christmas market, with over 50 stalls ranging from home wear to gin and of course their very own entertainment it is no surprise there has been an overwhelming response.

Six residents have spent time organising the dreamy event after Assistant Co-ordinator Dawn Jones dreamt that she was going to host a Christmas Market.

Dawn said: “We are thrilled that it is going so well and there are so many people involved. There are people from far and wide attending the markets and we are looking forward to the day.”

The Alzheimer’s Research are just one of many charities attending the event and are ensuring they have a prize for all participants who take part in their tombola.

Claire Burnman from the Alzheimer’s Research said: “Our aim is to cure or at least help Alzheimers and we are hoping that being out and about we might get some more members to join us.”

Ranging from food and drink to Children’s activities there is something for everyone’s taste at the event on Cefn Road.

Events Manager Linda Roberts said: “The community of Old Colwyn have provided lots of positive feedback and everybody seems to be very excited.”

The event will take place on the 15th and 16th of December and is free entry on both days there will be parking at Ysgol Bryn Elian.
