Seagulls' boss Craig Hogg has given a new update on the squad, with a welcome return to training and news of a couple of departures.

Hoggy reported: "It is great to be back in training and to see the squad together again.

"We have completed a couple of sessions since restrictions were lifted and the energy and quality on display from the players has been really good.

"There has been a great buzz and feel about training and that has all been down to the players, who have dictated the standard and driven the recent sessions that we've had.

"Two notable absentees, however, are Alex Downes and Joe Chaplin who have now both left the club.

"Alex will be returning to Runcorn Linnets as he is looking to progress with his football through the English pyramid.

"He has been brilliant for us and is a loss, but we move on and we wish him well with his move back to English football.

"Joe Chaplin asked to be released from the club in the middle of April, with a view to being able to speak to other clubs legally, before the summer registration window opens.

"Joe was honest in his thoughts when we spoke.

"We wish him well with his proposed move to another Cymru North side and we thank him for the brilliant work he has done for us here at the Bay.

"The squad will be training through out this month, into June and July, before the new season starts.

"We have a series of friendly games agreed for June (to be announced soon) which will really sharpen our focus as we move through our pre-season plan and get closer to the start date of the new campaign."
