Help St. David's Hospice stock up ready for shop openings

June 16, 2020 - 1474 views

Charity shops and local organisations looking to raise money for their worthwhile causes are making plans behind the scenes to open up as soon as permission is granted by a change in Welsh Government rules.

On Friday First Minister Mark Drakeford is expected to reveal plans for non-essential retail to open up again provided shops can demonstrate that they can excercise the two metre social distancing rule to keep staff and shoppers safe.

In preparation for re-stocking their shops locally St. David's Hospice will be opening up their Donation Centres in Mochdre, Llandudno and on Anglesey.

The charity which supports families and provides end of life care are hoping to quickly fill a funding gap which has seen a loss of a million pounds as a result of lockdown.

From next Monday 22nd June, you will be able to donate and drop off your saleable goods and collectables to the Hospice using their simple telephone booking system in advance.

The three Donation Centres in Mochdre, Llandudno and Gaerwen will be operating a very safe drive-thru system with everyone booking a slot by calling 01492 877701. As safety is paramount only people who have booked a slot will be permitted to drop off goods.

If you are a UK taxpayer, the Hospice can claim an additional 25% of the value of your donated goods once they are sold to further your help of the hospice in these crucial times.

All you need to do is fill in and sign a simple retail gift aid form upon arrival.
