Sunday recorded one of the busiest days of the season so far across North Wales with traffic congestion a major feature of the heatwave weekend.
Drivers heading down the coast were faced with massive delays on the A55 as visitors poured onto the coast with parking gridlock experienced along the promenades in Rhos on Sea and Colwyn Bay.
Those heading home on Sunday evening enjoyed major tailbacks exiting onto the A470 and A55 junctions with Traffic Wales reporting that traffic control measures had to be implemented around the Conwy Tunnel due to the sheer volume of traffic in the area.
As the weather begins to become fresher from tomorrow, temperatures are expected to fall from the high of 27 degrees celcius experienced in Porthmadog on Sunday afternoon. Despite heavy showers and thunderstorms spreading into the North, visitor numbers are expected to stay on the high side as these are traditionally the peak holiday weeks along the coast.
