January 25, 2022 - 947 views

The Nick Beer 1km Fun Run along the flat promenade of Llandudno, is the perfect way for the whole family to enjoy fitness in the fresh sea air whilst supporting St David’s Hospice.

Taking place on Sunday 13th February at 11:30am, it is open to all age groups. The fun run is a part of the Nick Beer 10k Race Day organised by the North Wales Road Runners Club (NWRRC) which starts at 12noon.

This year, the race celebrates its 30th Anniversary. It is a popular annual event attracting many hundreds of runners of mixed ages and abilities from across the UK, and beyond, who enjoy the scenic splendours of a hilly but picturesque course around the Great Orme.

Last year over 75 runners took part in the fun run. Participants can enjoy the event at their own pace knowing they have helped raise money for local end of life care in Northwest Wales.

Adrian Owen, St David’s Hospice Conwy Community Fundraiser said: “It is an easy 1000 metre route along the promenade which can be run, jogged or walked at your own pace. Children love to reach the end and be greeted with their very own medal for their achievements.

“Thank you once again to the North Wales Road Runners Club for including the fun run in the plans for their day. It is a fantastic feel-good event in Llandudno and so far has raised a total of £2400 from the past three fun runs.”

Entry is £5 and everyone will receive a finishers medal. Register at Venue Cymru from 10:30am on the day or in advance by calling St David’s Hospice Fundraising Office on 01492 873674 or by emailing adrian.owen@stdavidshospice.org.uk.
