As well as UK viewers enjoying the exploits of UK celebrities heading to Gwrych Castle in Abergele this November, German reality show fans are also set to experience a North Wales setting for their version of 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here".

RTL Television in Germany have confirmed today that "Ich bin ein Star" which is translated to "I'm A Star - Get Me Out of Here" will also be using the historic building as the set for their version of the show.

Filming is due to take place after Christmas in a co-production between RTL and ITV Productions in Manchester.

It is expected that some of Germany's favourite stars will be experiencing the charms of the castle and the somewhat chiller climate that North Wales has to offer.

RTL Managing Director Jorg Graf said: " Australia is currently resting producton as filming trips to distant countries are difficult or impossible for all of us. But not doing this great show is out of the question.

"We will be on-air in January and convinced that we can present a wonderful show from North Wales thanks to current situation."

Mr. Graf suggested that plans were very well advanced behind the scenes and that some interesting German stars were lined up.

"When I see who is going to take part and do the jungle challenges in Wales, I'd like to start the show right away!"

German TV presenters Sonja Zietlow and Daniel Hartwich will be leading viewers through the camp antics which is regularly viewed by over 7 million viewers each week.

The news is another fantastic boost for the area which heavily relies on tourism and visitors to create jobs and prosperity.
