Garden waste, recycling and Christmas dates revealed

Householders in Conwy should expect to see their new recycling and bin collection calendar drop through their letterbox from next week.

Conwy County Borough Council is reminding residents to look out for the calendar, which covers kerbside collections from December 2019 to November 2020.

“The calendar includes information on all your regular collections, and it also shows when your recycling and waste will be collected over Christmas and New Year,” said Cllr Greg Robbins, Cabinet Member for Environment and Transportation. “This includes the Christmas tree collection, when people can recycle their real tree in the first two weeks of January.”

Cllr Robbins added: “Next year, we’ll be introducing a subscription garden waste collection service, so this new calendar only shows green waste collections until the middle of January. We’ll be sending out information about the new green waste subscription service to residents in January, including how to join up and when it starts.”

Residents can check their recycling and waste collection dates on the Council website at www.conwy.gov.uk/recycling or get weekly reminders direct to their phone by downloading the Council app.

Anyone who hasn’t received their calendar by the end of November can contact the customer service team by emailing erf@conwy.gov.uk or phoning 01492 575337.
