At the end of last year, the Fisherman’s Chip Shop in Conwy ran a special promotion for St. David's Hospice and raised much needed funds thanks to the generosity of customers.

The family-run shop on Castle Street invited every customer who made a takeaway purchase to make a donation to the Hospice and in return received a raffle ticket which entitled them to a prize which ranged from 10% off their meal to their meal being paid for in full. The fundraiser made £601.05.

Local businesses Dragon Security and Electrical and The Patio Man (Wayne and Lucy Parry) also supported the fundraiser which enabled more prizes to be awarded.

The Fisherman’s Chip Shop have been long-time supporters of the Hospice but especially wanted to raise funds in memory of their mother Margaret Nolan who passed away in October 2020.

Talking about the event on Facebook, Cris Nolan said: “It is a charity that is very close to our hearts at the moment as they took care of our beloved mum when she was very poorly and we liked to do something to say thank you.

“We’re delighted to make a contribution to say thank you for all the amazing work that they do.”

Cris’s wife Maria is also raised funds for the Hospice by completing a 2000 Burpees challenge and raised over £580 for the Hospice.

Adrian Owen Conwy Community Fundraiser said: “Thank you to the Nolan family for coming up with different ways of raising funds for the Hospice and the community of Conwy for supporting the fundraiser to help their local Hospice service.

"The Fisherman’s Chip Shop has always supported the Hospice and we really appreciate the funds that they have helped raise”.
