A 48 hour order to prevent acts of an anti-social nature occuring in Colwyn Bay and Rhos-on-Sea will come into force from tomorrow evening according to a statement from North Wales Police.

"Due to recent incidents in Rhos on Sea and intelligence to suggest the possibility of large gatherings in Colwyn Bay over the weekend, Inspector Pawson, the District Insp for West Conwy Coastal, has today authorised a dispersal order utilising powers under the Crime & Policing Act 2014.

"The order will be in place for 48hrs from 1700hrs on Friday 27th May and during this time anyone found or suspected to be involved in Anti Social Behaviour will be ordered to remove themselves from the designated area.

"Failure to do so, or any return to the designated area within the specified time period, will result in enforcement action being taken against those individuals.

"It is important to note that officers will only utilise these powers when it is proportionate and necessary to do so. For the vast majority of the public of all ages who want to enjoy the area responsibly and considerately this will cause no problem for them.

"Any action will be taken only in relation to people who either do not know how to behave or who choose not to do so.

"We thank you in advance for your understanding and co-operation."
