Local cyclist Alan Welsh has taken on an incredible eight-hour cycling challenge on Llandudno Promenade to help raise vital funds for the RNLI.
The challenge took place earlier today, with Alan cycling continuously between the Pier Gates and the Lifeboat Station from 8am until 4pm in support of lifesaving services along the North Wales coastline.
Supporters gathered throughout the day to cheer him on, donate money and show their appreciation for the work carried out by RNLI crews who save lives at sea.
Visitors also had the opportunity to look around the Llandudno Lifeboat Station, which opened to the public from 1pm until 4pm. Members of the visits team were on hand to meet guests and explain more about the charity’s lifesaving work.
The RNLI says the average lifeboat station across Wales, North West England and the Isle of Man costs around £155,000 a year to run, highlighting the importance of community fundraising events such as Alan’s challenge.
Organisers thanked everyone who stopped by during the day and supported both Alan and RNLI Llandudno.
