Council flags to fly at half mast during period of mourning

Yesterday Buckingham Palace announced the death of His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

In response Councillor Abdul Khan, the Chairman of Conwy County Borough Council released a statement.

"It is with great sadness that the Council received this news and it sends its deepest sympathies and those of the people of Conwy to the Royal Family.

"During this period of mourning the flags will be flown at half-mast at all Council buildings until 8am on the morning following the funeral.

"As a result of the pandemic, the Book of Condolence will be available online as an e-Book of Condolence and will be accessible to the public at www.conwy.gov.uk from Monday, 12 April 2021.

"An e-Book of Condolence will also be opened on the Buckingham Palace website and on the day of the funeral a Two Minute Silence will be held at 11.00hrs."
