Conwy County Borough Council has been shortlisted in the Overall Council of the Year 2022 category run by the Association for Public Service Excellence (APSE).

This Award will recognise the best and most innovative local authority in the UK.

Focusing on their delivery of frontline services, the Award seeks to celebrate those councils who are achieving excellent results in a wide range of different service areas.

The Council has been shortlisted for Overall Council of the Year after becoming finalists in 5 service awards, including waste management and recycling; highways, winter maintenance and street lighting; the website Report It tool and customer service; ash dieback management; and using digital systems to deliver front line services more efficiently.

APSE is a not-for-profit organisation that works with local authorities and specialises in promoting excellence in frontline service provision.

Cllr Charlie McCoubrey, Leader of Conwy County Borough Council, said: “The work of Conwy’s Environment, Roads and Facilities team provides vital and valued services for the community and it’s pleasing for this work to be recognised and shortlisted in this prestigious public sector awards category.”

The Award winners will be announced on 15 September.
